Guidelines for grants

Grant applications are not required to follow a specific format; however, they should provide the foundation with a clear picture of the project and/or the grounds for funding and include the information—and, where applicable, supporting documentation—necessary for a decision. For larger initiatives, especially research projects, the foundation requires additional information, such as

Presentation of the applicant
Brief description of the project
How the planned project will be realized
Total cost of the project
Desired amount of funding by the foundation
Planned time period for the project

As a general rule, the following are excluded from funding:

Pure construction measures
The procurement of motor vehicles or the coverage of conversion costs for vehicles
Ongoing personnel costs

Applications are always rejected without justification.

Research projects

Approval is subject to the following conditions:

The funds are earmarked.
The foundation is to be informed at an early stage of any emerging changes in the content of the project and the conditions for its realization.
The foundation reserves the right to publicize the projects it supports and their results. In this regard, a corresponding willingness to cooperate is expected, as appropriate. If you plan to carry out any PR activities on your own, please notify the foundation in advance. In addition, it is expected that appropriate recognition will be given to the support provided by the Reinhold-Beitlich-Foundation.
The Foundation assumes that no rights of use or exploitation that are eligible for protection or worthy of protection will be derived from or established based on the results generated as part of the funded project. Where applicable, any results of the Foundation that are eligible for protection must be reported to the Foundation, which reserves the corresponding rights of protection and exploitation.
The foundation must be informed of the start, progress, and completion of the project, as well as the results achieved. An interim report must be submitted approximately 6 months after the project begins, and the final report must be submitted no later than two months after the project ends.
Proof must be provided that the grant funds have been properly used.
The foundation reserves the right to revoke the grant and to reclaim the funds if the grant conditions are not observed, in particular if the funds are not used for the intended purpose.
